My office has a pretty relaxed dress code, and since I’m only in a few days a week, I’ve landed on a consistent, low-maintenance rotation that still feels put-together. If you’re navigating a casual workplace or hybrid schedule, here’s a peek at what’s been working for me.
The Formula: Simple, Comfortable, and Repeatable
For the most part, I stick to a few staples that are easy to mix and match without overthinking it:
1. Long Sleeve Oxford Button-Downs
These are my go-to shirts. They strike that perfect balance between casual and professional. I usually lean toward neutral colors—white, light blue, pale gray—because they go with everything. Occasionally I’ll throw in a stripe or a soft check for some variety.
2. Straight Fit Chinos and Jeans
You can’t go wrong with a pair of well-fitting chinos. I rotate between a few shades—olive, tan, and navy mostly. On more laid-back days, I’ll wear dark wash jeans with no distressing. Comfort matters, but so does looking like you didn’t just roll out of bed.
3. Boots, Boots, and More Boots
If there’s one area where I like to mix things up, it’s footwear. I wear boots almost every day I’m in the office. Depending on the weather and my mood, that might be leather moc toes, suede Chelseas, or rugged lace-ups. They instantly elevate even the most basic outfit and can handle everything from rainy commutes to surprise happy hours.
That’s been the core of my casual work wardrobe lately. Nothing fancy, just solid pieces that I can count on. If you're in a similar situation—part-time office, full-time comfort-focused—this kind of setup might be just what you need too. All outfits, from shirts, pants, jeans, and boots are from www.jcrew.com. Watches from www.tudorwatch.com and www.tagheuer.com. I have some videos on my instgram page, so check that out too!
